After updating to Tizen Studio 2.0, 'Debug as Tizen Web application' results in 'step SDB shell handle failed'

Yesterday I've upgraded Tizen Studio to the lastest version (2.0). After the update I can't seem to start a debug session to my Tizen TV (a 2017 version).

 

When I try to start a debug session via 'Debug as Tizen Web application', the following message is displayed:

 

step SDB shell handle failed
Failed to `step SDB shell handle 'ls /usr/bin/xwalk-launcher > /tmp/null.deployer 2>&1; echo $? ' command` operation
sdb command rejected exception

 

It seems that this message has something to do with the certificate, you'll have to permit the TV to allow the installation of apps. In the previous version of Tizen Studio there was an option 'Permit to install applications' in the 'Connection Explorer' panel. This panel is no longer visible in the new version of Tizen Studio, and I can't seem to find the option in either the Certificate Manager or the Device Manager.

 

Please provide the necessary steps to revolve this issue

If you updated from allready installed Tizen Studio...

 

You have any chance to check fresh Installation on "other" Computer...

To check if this is some "mix"... or new attempt with fresh install leads to same result?

Never change an running system...

 

Samsung seems not interested in Bug fixing...

Only to integrate more """amazing""" """""""new"""""" Pictures ehm "features"... which are not available for real devices...

I upgraded from version 1.3, I think is was released 3 or 4 weeks ago. Everything was working fine on that version.

 

The question is how the whole certificate signing/installation is supposed to work in this version, I can't seem to find an option anywhere.

 

I'll also try a fresh install on another computer

Hello Patrick Eijkelhardt,

I was also missing the connection explorer after installing Tizen Studio 2.0. Installing The Device Manager, Certificate Manager and Related tools from Tizen Package Manager solved the issue.

 

Install the Packages under Tizen SDK Tools > Baseline SDK

 

Seems the Device Manager (Connection Explorer) have a new look...

When I compared your installation with mine, I didn't have the .NET CLI package installed from the Baseline SDK. After this package was installed, everything was working again! 

 

I don't understand why this package needs to be intalled, as I'm not developing at all with .NET.

 

But I've got it working again, so who cares :)
