Interoperability between Samsung Gear and Samsung Z1

Hello,

 

I plan to develop a tizen application interoperable with Samsung Gear series based on Tizen.

Since a target smartphone is Samsung Z1 which is also based on Tizen, I want to check compatibliity with Samsung Z1, and Samsung Gear.

Unfortunately, I have no any Gear series, but not Z1..

As I know, the Gear series are only compatible with Samsung Galaxy series.

Please tell me whether the Z1 and Gear are compatible or not.

Currently Z1 isnt compatible to Gear devices... but it will be in the future maybe, but without the Gear Manager App, no way

How about connectiong through bluetooth between Samsung Z1 and Gear devices??

Do I have to use Gear Manager App to interoperate Gear devices...??

I mean, I think it can be possible to communicate between Samsung Z1 and Gear devices through bluetooth connection.

By making two apps, Tizen moblie app and Tizen wearable app without Gear Manager App, I think the mobile app may receive contexts gathered from the wearable app through bluetooth connection.

And, also the wearable app may receive command from the mobile app.

How about that??

Hi,

AFAK there is no exposed bluetooth API in the Gear side. so currently Gear can't connect to bluetooth device without Gear manager.
