question about app for wearable device and installation

Hello

My client wants to develope an app for 'Galaxy gear S'

I dont have that device but I need to know about Installation and updating the app, theres not much thing that I can get through the emulator or tizen web site so I am just posting this.

 

condition

1. App is for certain people only - at first I will have all of the device and install app by myself then send the device to client's client(real user)

 

question

1. is it possible to install by myself to devices with sdb?

 - what do I need to achive it? like stuff like cable... or certain options on device

2. then can it be updated by themself?

 - as far as I know gear s can reach 3G by itself, so indivisual device can update the app by themselves?

 

In my view all the apps are installed by "Other mobile device" to the wearable device

so second question is not possible

anyway its just my opinion from what I searched from the website

please help me to know about the wearable device's app installation cycle and methods

any link or just keyword would help me a lot

Hi,

If you need to distribute your application to specific user only, you don't need to publish it into AppStore.

But you need to prepare the certificate(actually device-profile.xml) which can support each devices to install it seperately.

--->    Yes, you can install it using sdb and please download the wearable SDK to developement.

--->  You need to install it manually through data cable in you PC as you won't upload it on the AppStore.

yeah first I can install my app to device manually by myself

thats no problem :D

 

but heres one more thing

once I complete the first version of app, I will install them manually and then, send devices to client - out of my hand

the devices are about thousands and I won't be able to get them again

so I wanna know about app updating machanism or that kind of cycle

 - do you need mobile phone to transfer the app to device?

 - as far as I know Gear s has 3G connection, can it connect to the App store by themself?

2. then How do you update the wearable app on device?

 - does wearable app integrate their own library to download the new package? (sounds crazy but I have no idea)

 - requires mobile phone(android? IPhone? or tizen device?) to transfer app package to wearable device?

 

questions are like stupid but I got no idead about basic app installing cycle

so please describe me that kind of thing :D

I've added my comment here.

1. How do you install wearable app to the device?

 - do you need mobile phone to transfer the app to device? ---> if your Gear application is not standalone, you need to install APK which contains the wgt from phone to Gear side.

 - as far as I know Gear s has 3G connection, can it connect to the App store by themself? ---> I couldn't find such menu in Gear S. which means that it's not supported in Gear S.

 

2. then How do you update the wearable app on device?

 - does wearable app integrate their own library to download the new package? (sounds crazy but I have no idea) --->  as far as I know, you need to install APK which has a updated wgt.

 - requires mobile phone(android? IPhone? or tizen device?) to transfer app package to wearable device? ---> you need to Samsung phone which can connect to Gear.  you need to check the compatible phone which support Gear device in this website.
