Device Administrative Rights on Web TV Application

So i'm new to Tizen OS and my objective is to make an application specifically on Smart TV's, I have been going through the tizen architecture of Web App

can i start my app over any other app(on foreground, currenlty visible or no application is running on phone) as soon as I receive a notification from backend on my application and its action is to trigger your app and show a certain view (an overlay)  to the User and block him from closing my app for a couple of time.

I would suggest you the Tizen Web: Application Control API. You may check out AppControl Guide & API References to explore the features offered by Tizen.

AppControl Guide

AppControl API Reference

Then you might be able to test the feasibilities and plan your application design accordingly.

sure, let me go through the given link but since you already have worked on Tizen Web app I assume so can you tell me if silent notification exist on it? like whenever i receive a notification on TV while i'm on another app, it triggers on its own by opening my app and freeze few functionalities of my remote control. Much appreciated if you could guide me on this. kinda hurry on this.

thanks in advance.

About Notification?

- If the notification would be triggered from your Server/Cloud in that case check out the Push Notification API.

- If your TV app would trigger the notification itself then you might check Alarm API and use AppControl to trigger your app & perform desired (if possible) action.

Triggering/launching your app is possible using AppControl. But I haven't seen features like 'block user from closing your app' or 'freezing remote control'.

I've did and achieved that but what the last thing i have to do is get the listener events when Device/TV is powered on or off and i will have any kind of service that detects this and do some stuff.

I haven't directly seen Power on/off listener in documentations. But you may try Visibility Change ( as mentioned on this post) to check out if it performs your desired action.

I'm using that listener but since it doesn't get called whenever TV is powered ON or OFF.

Seems Tizen TV doesn't offer listener for TV power on/off event right now.
