Tizen Store Seller Office
You’ve created your own app, what’s next? Make it known to the world! Upload your app to the Tizen Store Seller Office. This opens the opportunity to have your app in every Tizen powered smartphone, starting with the Samsung Z1.
The Tizen Store Seller Office is open to everyone. This creates the connection between developers and users. As a registered user you can upload your app. This can be registered as free or paid. A paid app includes in-app purchases,” freemium”, and of course the premium app.
In the video, “Tizen Store Seller Office”, is a walkthrough to register for an account, sign in, and upload our own application for free.
Try it out for yourself! Go to http://seller.tizenstore.com
Tizen: At a Glance
Get to know more of the Open-Sourced Tizen platform. With the launching of the Samsung Z1, Tizen makes its way into the market with Tizen 2.3.
What makes Tizen flexible that it can be used in Mobile, Wearable, In-Vehicle Infotainment, and TV?
It is made possible by the collaboration of Device Manufacturers, Developers, Mobile Operators, and Independent Software Vendors. Because Tizen is based on the Linux Kernel and GNU C Library it has two main application types – Native and Web. Also by combining these two will result in Hybrid Applications allowing for versatility across all platforms.
In the video, “Tizen: At A Glance”, we will be able to introduce to you what Tizen is, Architecture, Profiles Supported, Application Types, and the newly released Tizen 2.3.
Developing a Tizen App
Samsung proudly releases the Z1 based on Tizen 2.3. This new set of mobile device is set to create innovations that would harness a synergetic environment.
Tizen 2.3 enables developers to easily customize the User Interface that increases a simplified and yet immersive User Experience. Tizen harnesses the power for optimal performance and continuous connectivity.
Watch the video and learn more on how to create a simple Tizen App on Tizen 2.3. Then, create and register necessary certificates such as Device Unique ID (DUID) to have you up and running.
RTL and Tizen
Once you have developed your Tizen Application, test it out with the Samsung Z1 with Tizen 2.3. The Remote Test Lab (RTL) would enable you to do just that.
Three easy steps to use the RTL:
1) Register and Sign-In to developer.samsug.com
2) Go to Support and check the requirements
3) Install your application on a remote test device.
Why test with RTL? It would let you see how your Tizen application would look like on an actual device. Clearly assess and then make modifications before releasing your application to the Tizen Seller Office.
Layout Made Easy : Tizen UI Builder
What makes Tizen 2.3 different from other operating systems? Is its flexibility with Native, Web, and Hybrid (combining Native and Web) programming capabilities that deliver a consistent user experience across platforms.
In this tutorial, the UI Builder will enable you to get to know the basic aspects of the Tizen User Interface. This tool simplifies creating native UIs in Tizen with its easy to use editor. How is this made possible? It is by employing a WYSISWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Drag-and-Drop; making the UI Builder easy for everyone to use.
Watch the video and be familiar using the UI Builder for Tizen.
Tizen UX Guide - Get Acquainted with the Tizen Experience
Developing your own application not only depends on how good your app is. It is also dependent on how the User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) are implemented. Tizen has key design principles that every developer must use as a guide to have that immersive experience.
In the video, “Tizen UX Guide Part 1” will show you how to effectively use the design language of Tizen 2.3. And ultimately have a content-driven experience.
Tizen UX Guide - Tizen Interactivity
Having a well designed User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) will make the user become part of the apps. Letting it be easy on the eyes and have organized information making it easy to use.
For developers and designers, think and be the user. Don’t just look at the app but imagine but how it feels to use it. We want to have an immersive experience that can make the user be an integral part of the consumer experience. With the topics in this tutorial, you can get a head start.
Samsung Z1 UI & UX - First Look
Whether you are having your first smartphone or switching to the new Samsung Z1, getting around with it is a breeze. Being the first to run on Tizen, this surely gives it an edge.
It has all you need and more. Simplicity and uniqueness is evident from the lockscreen down to the apps. Personalization, organization, entertainment, and information are all within your reach. Join me in this video, and let’s experience Tizen.
Design your Tizen app with EFL.
Using libraries in Tizen, whenever creating an effective User Interface (UI), would enhance the User Experience (UX). The Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (EFL) provides all the resources to create impressive applications on the Samsung Z1.
There are five main types of EFL. They are as follows: Elementary, Edje, Ecore, Evas, and Eina.
Each library would allow making your application run on Tizen 2.3 efficiently and is well designed.
Watch the video and familiarize yourself with EFL. For more information you can also go to developer.tizen.org.
