Hybrid App (Wearable + Native)

It is possible to create a hybrid app that runs on wearables (Gear S) ? Does anyone tried this? I have seen some examples for mobile development, but I want to create something similar for Gear S watch.

I would like to use the native capabilities for background service support and the Wearable Web App for the UI!

Thanks in advance,

Bogdan Baran

Hi,

As far as I know, currently Gear S support Tizen 2.2.1. but  web service is supported from Tizen 2.3.

I think that you can configure your application to work in background as well. you can add below thing to config.xml to make it.

    <tizen:setting background-support="enable" />

I wish this will help you.

Hi,

Thanks for your information. I have tried this approach, but this methods lacks in batery performance and it requires the app to run continuously. If the users clears all the background apps, my sensors will not be called anymore.

Does anyone know if there will be any firmware release soon for Gear S? Currently it is as 2.2.1.4

Thanks again,

Bogdan

Do you know about a page that state support hybrid apps on various profiles , and especially on Tizen 2.4

I guess this slide is now obsolete ? isnt it  ?

Hi,

I could see hybrid for wearable in Tizen SDK 2.4. so it seems that it's available in Gear S2.
