I prefer to store JSON in localStorage

store data (value) to specific key (save point)
function save(key, value) {
    localStorage.setItem(key, JSON.stringify(value));
}

restore data from specific key (save point)
function load(key) {
    return JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem(key)) || null;
}
