LOL Samsung doesn't like to explain clearly meaning of "Top 100" - it looks like they simply take Top 100 most downloaded apps, then will exclude the apps that are not eligible for incentives. But the problem here is those apps will continue to take away precious spots in the Top 100 list. So it simply doesn't make much sense to work hard for your apps, and just follow what other fake apps are doing - like implement another "prank" app to get downloads. Or maybe an "IMO" app, with 4 fake screens designed in photoshop adobe and when user opens the app, boom, "PRANK"! But download matters and you can't compete with the ones likes WhatsApp and Facebook who must be getting 50k to 100k a day. 

I'm surpirsed that Nougat Launcher is not in that list. That's a pretty cool app but I wonder why it didn't make it to that list. Maybe the developer of that app can tell us more about how many downloads he was getting per day approximately.

My app Bo App Lock is not getting many downloads but is steadily climbing the rank in Top Free 100. Maybe we all developers that start sharing the download numbers here so that we can predict next results. Thoughts?

Nouhat Launcher is on the top 100. Results from today are misleading, we have to wait for explanations from Tizen Team.

I think, prank apps is really sh*t.
But this top list have just 3-5 prank apps:

17. Night Vision
28. Animated Cracked Screen (but this is not 5 minutes app)
71. Mirror
74. Height Finger Prank

This top list does not include other useless and stupid apps like X-Ray Camera, Blood Sugar Prank, Fire Screen Prank and other.

Weight Finger Prank on the list ??? The main question is - is this filtered list or just first 100 apps from the store.

That's the meaning of "up to 100".

Actually appr 70-80 app per month. 

They need to reduce the cost.

From Terms And Conditions and FAQ:

1.The Tizen Store Top Ranking list is not the monthly download ranking. 
The Monthly Top 100 is announced separately on the Incentive Program website.

2. Any application that is pre-loaded on the Tizen mobile devices, it will be excluded from the list of candidates eligible for prizes. 

AD1. As I understand the winners list should be filtered.
AD2. Why on the list we can find pre-loaded apps?

1. TizenStore Top Ranking based on some parameters (as i think). Not only downloads (may be category+downloads+rating).

How samsung select winner:

Step 1. They select top 100 downloaded list. they select top 100 by "internal logic", not the top on tizen store. 

this top 100 is all type of app, included pre-installed, 5 minutes app, fake, ...

 

Step 2. Filter from 100 app from step 1

- Check incentive program status. App that "awaiting approval" will rejected.

only app that "approval" will pass.

 

Step 3. another criteria: terms and condition, privacy, copy righ, cheating,....

Review team will do this. And a numbe of app will exclued.

 

Only app that survise from 3 steps can receiced cash.

so if you'r in top 100, not sure u get cash.

samsung and partner will be excluded in step 2.

The list we see is from step 1 list.

Bu this rule, there will be never 1 million USD per month for developer.

that's meaning of "up to 1 million"

According to your algorithm this is FAKE CONTEST and stupid RULES.

There are 100 apps (from samsung, samsung partners and first month winners) blocking top of the list and other participants have no chance to get there.

And from 100 winners each month we will have 5 winners...

Aww that's pretty cool. And what the hell. The results are misleanding??? How did that happen? LOL They should have sent the results to Tizen Review Team first - they would have definitely rejected it. lol

I didn't say Nougat Launcher is 5 minutes app buddy. I said it is a cool app that should have made in top 100. 

And it's now showing me at number 35, not number 33. Number 33 is Dinosaur Simulator Dino World. So maybe different people are seeing different results based on country they are in?

And if you see my Bo App Lock screen shot on Tizen Store, I have shown Nougat Launcher in the screen shot. (:

Hey BNKTOP,  sorry I can't write Russian from my laptop so apologies for writing that "N" in wrong way. And thanks for inspiration. I have version 1.1.0 ready but it keeps getting rejected lol because it is crashing on 2 devices but I have only one tizen device to test on. Also are you owner of Nougat Launcher? ^_^

Aww I am on my iPhone rn but will download your apps lol Wvery download counts lol and yeah the v1.1.0 got rejected twice. First time undocumented API (LOGI macro) and second time a stupid crash due to my own stupidity. Somebody from Tizen Store told me my app will be featured in Indonesia next week so that's pretty awesome although Indonesia is not giving me many downloads. Just 110-140 downloads a day from Indonesia. If it gets featured in India then that would be a party time lmao

1) There are many ACL apps in the top 100: all these apps are excluded of course

2) whatsapp, facebook, etc are preinstalled = also excluded

at the end of each month there will be:

winning_apps_count =  100 - excluded_apps (excluded over half of the list)

not 100 as stated in the contest big slogan...

After removing ACL apps (FB, whatsapp, etc) what will be put into empty place? Will be still 100 apps per month or - as said Paul L - current 100 minus removed apps?

Samsung is absolutely unprofessional if the query is
"SELECT apps ORDER DESC downloads LIMIT 100 WHERE..."
instead of a normal:
SELECT apps WHERE... ORDER DESC downloads LIMIT 100"

If this is the case, I will really enjoy to delete my apps from their store, sell all my Samsung devices and prmote their lack of fair-play.

On other hand, which is the daily downloads number for the top 100 apps?

Samsung is actually promising 10k for all top 100. Their ads always say this in bold letters "Win $10000 for monthly Top 100". However that is a false promotion and a twisted gameplay on behalf of Samsung. When Google announced ADC1 and ADC2, they didn't do such foul game plans. But you're right. I think it's better to stick with iOS and Android developments instead of wasting your time and energy on Tizen for a creepy contest.

I didn't get an anwer from Olivier Nyssen but if our assumption about Top 100 is true and finally it will be top 80 or top 70, it makes developers to cheat and for example change apps to paid in order to make room for new apps.

sorry to say that but this is the worst dev contest organized by Samsung (previous were excelent) because:
1. do not no who wins, some from the top 100 apps are disqualifies, some excluded etc.
2. intentionally or not the terms and condition are missleading - no top 100 wins. Top apps (preinstalled,
must have content and winners from previous period) block the list and each month there will be few, random winners. 

I'm sure due to this issues there want be new valuable content in Tizen Store... Shame.

Does anyone know how the Tizen ranking works? My app Bo App Lock is no more listed in Top New Free but I saw that other apps that were released around same time that I released mine are still listed in Top New Free. And some apps like Tubemate continues to be in Top Utilities and Top New apps list but is not listed in Top 100 Free list which is weird.

Tubemate should be in Top Free 100 list but it is not. This is on my z2 phone and I am accessing Tizen store from California USA

This contest is a joke. I can not believe in my eye when I see Facebook, My Galaxy, Facebook Messenger, Asphalt... etc

There are many problems
- They rejected application for unreasonable reasons: confirm app exit, Save setting (on, off) sound
- They removed my application from the New Free category (Other apps published at the same time are still there)
- If my app has many downloads they will decline because of the same name with another android, ios app (Almost every name has been used)

Samsung/Tizen overestimated our skills and assume that new apps will beat preinstalled content ;) But seriously - the Terms And Conditions are not clear and they can reject app for many reasons.

No idea if this is Mission Impossible to filter 1 categorie... and show then Top 100 only from this...

Maybe check your Algo...

 

Now AGAIN Samsung creates "funny" confusion... and nobody from Samsung answers... like we allready known...

Samsung removed my app from New Free Category as well - and it was removed before I submitted v1.1.0. Other apps that updated their versions are still in the New Free category so it looks like Samsung does not want me to win the contest. And writing to Tizen Support has a standard reply - like they don't give a f**k about what you're trying to tell them. 

Samsung knows without developers, Tizen is not going anywhere. Look at all the bad reviews Tizen users give - almost every 4th 1 star I get is because I did not create IMO app. If Samsung can not attract _and_ retain quality developers, Tizen is going nowhere. It won't even pose a trivial challenge to Android. That's my opinion. No developers, no Tizen because no good apps. I hope Samsung realizes that it's creepy way of attracting developers is not going to work in long run. 

There are absolutely no clear terms and conditions. It's a big fat joke to waste time and energy of developers. If my app is not winning 10k next month, I'm removing my app from Tizen store and start focusing on iOS again. Samsung can stay happy with Cockroach prank and night vision camera apps.

My app was in top 100 list but when I check the Entry it displayed as "Approval" .
If the app in top 100 it status should be as winner?

But i asked them about ticket 4 days ago.
There answer:

So threre are only 56 winners. In the next months there will be less and less. 

From T&C: "The number of downloads is calculated based on existing download data collection standards."

Do you know what does it mean? Unique downloads? Active installations? Or combination of other factors...
